Confirmations

Links to the 2007 DOCOF confirmation information are below.  There are 376 dogs entered on 46 Teams representing 30 Member Clubs or Schools in the 2007 competition.  The breakdown for the classes is as follows:  137 Novice dogs, 128 Open dogs and 111 Utility dogs.  Good Luck to All and safe travels to all teams coming to Orlando!

The Team Summary will have each Handler's armband number and you can figure out their ring and running order by their number.

The Judges Schedule and Novice/Open Group Exercise Schedule is posted.  You can identify the rings and where your Handlers will be showing and for which Judge.  For the Group Sit and Down Exercises please make sure your Novice and Open Handlers are informed that their rings will move very quickly at DOCOF because there are no groups exercise interruptions every 12 dogs.  ALL groups for Novice and Open are performed starting at 11:00 am in ALL rings.  Please help your Handlers identify which rotation of groups and which ring they will perform their group exercises in.  It very likely will not be the ring in which they performed their other Novice or Open class exercises.  GROUP EXERCISE RINGS START WITH OPEN DOGS.  There will be no other opportunity to perform the group exercises so please be ready when you are called.  If you think you will have a conflict contact the Trial Secretary and I will work it out for you.

The Stewards Schedule is posted.  Team Captains are responsible for making sure their stewards are informed of the schedule and arrive on time and work their full shift.  If your steward cannot make it for any reason the TEAM CAPTAIN is responsible to find a replacement.  Please inform the Trial Secretary before the event of any changes and inform CRS Ruth Stubler or someone at the Chief Ring Stewards desk day of competition.

A Trial Site Map will be posted here by Monday night August 27, 2007 so your members can find your team space more easily and know which doors to park nearest to unload equipment.

Trial Set Up begins Friday, August 31 at 4:00 pm.  You may bring your dog(s) and their crates into the building.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SET UP RING SPACE FOR YOUR TEAM OR START RUN-THROUGH PRACTICE UNTIL ALL RINGS IN BOTH BUILDINGS ARE COMPLETELY SET UP AND CLEANED.

There will be Parking Spaces for Unloading and Loading near each set of doors Sunday morning September 2nd, 2007.  A ten minute parking time will be enforced and you must leave your keys with an attendant (parking police).  DO NOT PARK IN THE ROAD WAY OR FIRE LANES TO UNLOAD OR THE FAIRGROUNDS EMPLOYEES WILL TOW YOUR VEHICLE.  You may set up team spaces on Saturday between the hours of 8:00 am and 2:30 pm as well to alleviate congestion and have a more relaxed trial morning.

Vendors may set up booths on Saturday between the hours of 8:00 am and 2:30 pm or Friday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

If you have further questions please contact me.

DOCOF PARADE of Teams

Hello DOCOF Fans,

This is the first year that DOCOF will have a Parade of Teams as part of the closing award ceremonies.  It should be a nice way of showing pride in all of the dogs!  The Parade of Teams was brought up and voted on at DOCOF Annual Meeting in 2006.  (See meeting Minutes in the 2007 DOCOF Doings.)

To prepare teams for the Parade of Teams at our closing award ceremonies our sound specialists will offer a little music and DOCOF President Nancy Grotheer will announce the teams as they enter the ring.

The Parade of Teams will take place in the awards ring as the first event of the awards ceremonies.  This will occur when all other rings have been taken down fully and the Awards Ceremony ring set up is completed.

Each Club or schools' Team Captain will be responsible for having their team members and dogs together and ready to enter the ring.  The Team Captain will hand the steward their team name, clearly printed as they wish it announced by Nancy.  When the team name is announced the team will enter the ring and circle it to the point that the exit is indicated. There will be a small space between teams but the parade will be continuous.

Participation in the Parade of Teams is completely voluntary.  Banners, signs and team pennants are welcome. Be part of the parade and celebrate your teams participation in the DOCOF competition.
