How to win the Sir Charles "Charlie" Memorial Award - The award will be held by the DOCOF organization each year until one club can win DOCOF 3 times, at which time it will become the property of that winning club. Each year the award will have the name and year of the winning club engraved on a plaque attached to the base of the award. In addition to the inscription on the plaque the winning club with be awarded $200 by David Holzman in Charlie's memory to use to purchase training equipment or supplies to perpetuate the sport of obedience. Something that will assist dogs to perfect their skills to better face the challenges of competition. Charlie would like that.
Labor day weekend 2005 was the 1st time the award was presented. Mix & Match won the right to say they were the 1st club to have their name placed on the award winning the event with a score of 1143. People remember the 1st. It's something to be proud of, the opportunity will never come again. |
